Annual Governance and Accountability Statements

The audit of the Council’s 2019/2020 Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR) has been completed by the Council’s external auditors; Mazars LLP, Salvus House, Aykley Heads, Durham, DH1 5TS. The statement of accounts have been published and Section 25 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 provides any local government elector of the area of the Council the right of inspection. The Annual Return comprises the annual accounts, governance statement and internal auditor’s  report of the Council, and the external auditor reports their opinion via an external auditors report and certificate.

The timeframe is later than usual due to the current social distancing measures in place. By commencing the Exercise of Public Rights date from 3rd August 2020 that will take into account potential easing of social distancing throughout the parish. In addition, the Clerk is presently working from home and is not available for residents to visit in the Parish Office.
