Meetings are usually held monthly on the fourth Wednesday of each month with Special Meetings called as and when necessary. There are no meetings normally planned during August and December

Sub-Committees and Working Groups are held on an ‘as and when’ basis.  The agenda and reports may be viewed from the links as soon as they are available. 

Committee Structure

The three main committees are:

Allotments Committee – members are appointed at the Council’s Annual Meeting in May each year.

Policy and Resources Group (P & R) –open to all Parish members, although some sub groups have named members only

Community Engagement Group Committee – open to all Parish members

Membership of the various Sub-Committees and Working Groups of the Council are also appointed at the Annual  Meeting of the Council.

Councillors Appointed to Outside Organisations

The council appoints members to serve as representatives of the Council on a number of outside bodies at the Annual Meeting of the Council.

Public Participation

Meetings shall be open to the public unless their presence is prejudicial to the public interest by reason of the confidential nature of the business to be transacted or for other special reasons.  The public’s exclusion from part or all of a meeting shall be by a resolution which will give reasons for the public’s exclusion.

The Council now also has a Public Filming, Recording and Audio Reporting Policy at meetings.

Future Meeting Dates

Parish Council Meetings are usually in the lounge or main hall, Pelton Community Centre. Please check the relevant agenda for the venue and start time for each meeting. 

The following meeting dates have been agreed for 1st June 2026 to 28th May 2027. Sub Committee and Working Group Meetings will be arranged as and when required.

Full Council- 17th June 2026, 29th July 2026, 16th September 2026, 28th October 2026, 25th November 2026, 13th January 2027, 24th February 2027, 24th March 2027, 28th April 2027, 26th May 2027

Finance Meetings- 28th October 2026, 13th January 2027 and 28th April 2027

Annual Meeting of the Electors- 26th May 2027- 6pm 

Annual Meeting of the Council- 26th May 2027 commencing immediately after the Annual Meeting of the Electors
