As detailed in the Parish News post on  25th July 2022, Pelton Parish Council have recently applied to Durham County Council to register The Wynd Play Area/Green Open Space area as an Asset of Community Value. I’m delighted to let you know that we have received confirmation this morning from Durham County Council that the application has been successful. I’ve attached a copy of the letter for your information. To strengthen the application we provided all of the evidence submitted by local residents and Letters of Support from Pelton Community Centre, Room 14 and Rt Hon Kevan Jones MP.

Bellway Homes have agreed to attend a public meeting in September 2022, date and time to be confirmed to discuss their plans for a development off Station Lane. I’ll be in touch when I have a further update on that information.
