At a Special Council Meeting held on 11th July 2022 the Parish Council discussed the next steps forward for an application to register land off the Wynd as an Asset of Community Value. Potential housing developments East of Station Lane, Pelton were also discussed. There were 40 residents present at the meeting who asked questions and provided information to the Parish Council. Please read on for further information.

Pelton Parish Council have applied for the recreation land off The Wynd to be registered as an Asset of Community Value and ask if resident’s support the application. In addition, the Parish Council have been informed that a housing developer has asked Durham County Council if they can carry out site investigations on the land. We would like to seek feedback from residents on these matters. All completed petitions are to be provided to Durham County Council by 9am on Thursday 21st July 2022 after Durham County Council kindly agreed to an extension of a previous deadline. We appreciate the timescale deadline is not ideal for our busy residents but hope the short questionnaire can be completed by our residents before the deadline.
