What is the PPNIB Competition? –
PPNIB Competition is back again for 2025, and after a difficult year for gardeners in 2024 – We hope that 2025 brings us more colour and vegetables to show off our skills and green fingers. The aim of the PPNIB competition is to create a more attractive environment in which we can all live and work.
Who can enter the competition?
The competition is open to all individuals, groups, and organisations throughout the Pelton Parish area. Only gardens viewable from a public highway or footpath are eligible (does not apply to allotments or schools).
These are the 4 different categories that you can enter-
- School, Community Building or Business Frontage
- Neighbourhood Area or Group Project
- Garden or Yard
- Allotment/kitchen garden. If you don’t have a garden, you can use plant pots, containers, window boxes or hanging baskets for your displays viewable from a public highway or footpath.
How do I enter?
All residents will have a Parish Council Newsletter delivered in February/March 2025.

Why should I enter?
Everyone who participates will be helping to improve the Pelton Parish area and you could win a cash prize as follows – Overall Winner of the Categories will receive £50: Category winners will receive £30 and the runner up in each category will receive £15. All completed entries to be returned between 1.3.24 & 6.7.25. Judging will take place week commencing 21st July 2025. Winners will be informed by 30th September 2025. Further information, rules, guidance and updates will be detailed on the Parish Council Website-
