Parish News|

Dear Resident,

Pelton Parish Council have asked the Artist Graeme Hopper to work with us and our residents to create 3 artistic features to complement the existing War Memorial and the seating in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church, Pelton. There will be 2 features either side of the tree that is behind the War Memorial. They will be aligned so that they are viewed when walking into the cemetery from the entrance where the War Memorial is located. There will also be a feature behind the War Memorial which will also be designed with suggestions from the local community.

We are applying for Section 106 monies of £20k and have agreed funding from the parish council of £2k. Graeme will work with our local community on the designs. The design provided is an initial sketch and will evolve as design work takes place within our community. We have also purchased 8 Large Soldier Silhouettes and 10 Small Soldier Silhouettes from the Royal British Legion to install in the run up to Remembrance Day around our villages. This timing will coincide with when we install the Large Poppies onto lampposts throughout the parish.

We would appreciate feedback from our residents on the current outline of this project.

Please complete the following consultation before the deadline date of 12pm on Thursday 25th June 2026. Thank you.
