Dear Resident,

Following on from Normans recent retirement we are delighted to let our residents know that we have employed a new Litter Picker to work 8 hours each week covering Pelton and Perkinsville. Trevor started on 9th February 2026 and is making a difference already. There was also another exceptional candidate at the interviews who the parish council agreed to also offer employment to for 8 hours each week. Tracey will be starting on 2nd March 2026 and will be covering Pelton, Newfield, Pelton Lane Ends, High Handenhold and West Pelton. Trevor was shown the ropes by our Grange Villa Litter Picker, Janice and the Parish Clerk. You will see Janice, Trevor & Tracey out and about in all weathers to collect as much rubbish from our streets as possible. We are also proud of our residents who have collected litter picker pliers and bags from Pelton Community Centre and are out and about to keep the parish tidy. Many hands do make a difference.

Please see below for some before and after pictures of the areas already cleaned in the last week and a half- 30 bags have been collected since 9th February 2026. If each bag averages 4kg each then that would be the equivalent of carrying a Panda Bear and a female Siberian Husky. Of course- the parish council don’t recommend any resident trying this…..
