Central Heating installation grants

Durham County Council is currently processing free central heating grants, for low income households who do not currently have any central heating installed. The attached Free Central Heating Leaflet (002)provides a phone number and e-mail address for enquiries.

The grant will provide first time central heating to owner occupiers with an income less that £30k, or who are in receipt of a qualifying benefit, or have a long term disability. The property must use solid fuel with no more than one radiator installed, or have old electric storage heaters. Qualifying households will receive a new gas boiler and central heating, plus a free gas connection if required (within 23m of mains gas), all at no cost to the homeowner.
